Which of the following points lie in the solution set to the following system of inequalities? y x - 5 y -x - 4 (1, 10) (-1, 10) (10, 1) (1, -10) this is my last question.

> or < ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y less than or equal too x - 5 y less than or equal too -x - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or just (in your head) insert the values of each of the 4 possible answers into both inequality, and if y still is less than or = to both, that is the right answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you

Example: take (10,1) x=10, y=1: inserting these values into both inequalities 1<10-5=5 1<-10-4=-14 And this contradicts the first inequality, so isn't the correct point.
