In a essay what is a thesis statment?
in my own simple words, it's kind of a statement that summarizes your essay. Something like the main message does that help? or wouldd you like a formal definition?
Well I'm doing an essay about film techniques in a movie to convey a message. Would the thesis statement be saying - a number of techniques are used to convey the message of blah blah blah.
could be...or my own suggestion would be "different film techniques correspond to different messages blah blah blah" main point is...that's right.
my advise though...try to make the flow smooth. Don't make it sound formal. Thesis statements are for the readers to know the message of your essay, thus, your statement should be conversational, or at least not *too* formal.
So a good thesis would be something like (feel free to correct) A number of different film techniques correspond to the viewers, why it is wrong to judge by apperance.
hmm...i like "A number of different film techniques correspond to the different viewers," more...although...i do not know what the viewers have to do with the techniques...it's more on the director isnt it? and i dont get the second part of the statement
i think what you're trying to say is something like different viewers like different styles of film techniques right?
Well our essay question is "What film techniques does the director use to convey a message to the audience" and that message is Do not judge by apperence alon
what message? the director's message? or your essay's message?
The message the director is trying to convey using these techniques
"Different kinds of viewers like different kinds of film techniques, that is why people should not judge based on appearance" it doesn't have a captivating ring to it though
Thanks you so myuch for your help
