Well I'm doing an essay about film techniques in a movie to convey a message.
Would the thesis statement be saying - a number of techniques are used to convey the message of blah blah blah.

my advise though...try to make the flow smooth. Don't make it sound formal. Thesis statements are for the readers to know the message of your essay, thus, your statement should be conversational, or at least not *too* formal.

hmm...i like "A number of different film techniques correspond to the different viewers," more...although...i do not know what the viewers have to do with the techniques...it's more on the director isnt it?
