The picture shows the design of part of a bridge. What is the height AC of the bridge? 1100over sin30 meters 1100over cos30 meters 1100 sin 30° meters 1100 cos 30° meters

so look at what u've got......the HYPOTENUSE and the angle. Ur after the line OPPOSITE the angle so ur wanting to use sin theta= opp/hyp again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1100 over sin30 meters?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a bit different this time sin theta = OPP / HYP then put in what we know ( we know the length of the hypotenuse and the angle theta) so.............. sin 30 = OPP / 1100 Now rearrange to get OPP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so cos 30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

close but no cigar if sin30 = OPP / 1100 then multiply both sides by 1100 to get : 1100 x sin30 = OPP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1100 sin 30° meters?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep
