from what I heard, Kurt Vonnegut spent the 1970s and 1980s as a commentator. he published novels about corruption in the politics, pollution in the environment, etc.

i know he had to watch after 7 kids....Vonnegut raised seven children: three from his first marriage; his sister Alice's three children, adopted by Vonnegut after her death from cancer; and a seventh, Lily, adopted with Krementz.
