x + y – z = –1 x + y + z = 3 3x – 2y – z = –4 x=? y=? z=?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

is this for lin alg?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

@merandakay ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start by solving for one variable. z is easiest to start with. take the first 2 equations and subtract one from the other

Pre Calculus. Systems of Equations in Three Variables.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2z = -4 z = 2

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

then there are a few ways to solve. The wasy way is with matricies but I guess thats a no go. you can solve any equation for say z then plug that into another equations for all z then solve that for y and plug that into the last equation for y and then solve for x...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+y=1 x+y=1 so the first two are the same equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=1 and x=0 z=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true story

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's hard to explain how to solve this
