How do I determine if the following is arithmetic sequence? tn=8-2n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so tell me what to do

looool okaayy

All arithmetic series are of the form \[T_n=a_0 +(n-1)*d\]here d is the common difference and a_0 is the first term, see if you can make the expression fit this general form.

but how do i do that from tn=8-2n

A more analytic approach is: Put n=0, find Tn. Then n=1 and find Tn, repeat till n= 5. Now inspect the sequence obtained. It starts from 8 and successively decreases by a constant difference of 2. Is it a arithmetic sequence?

okay I got it ! Thank you so much :)
