what is the domain and range of 4 /( t²- 16)

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

the domain is determined by what values of x you can input into the function. Hint: You cannot input values of x that result in division by 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For domain, the denominator shouldn't be zero. So put\[t^2-16=0\]find the value of t. So the function works for all real numbers except the value of t that you got. Range is all the possible values you might get from the function. The function will always yield positive values and since you have ruled out the value for which the function becomes infinity \[4/0= \infinity\] so all other values can be obtained. Hence the range becomes all positive real numbers except infinity.
