Convert 4.5 to D.M.S. form. I dont know how to do it.. Please help. I have a test tomorrow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DMS is degrees/minutes/seconds So 4.5 degrees is equal to 4 and a half degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 degree has 60 minutes in it, so a half of a degree is equal to what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the minute answer has decimals in it, you would multiply the remaining decimal by 60 sec since there are 60 sec in a min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the answer is 257.. :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, this is because the original units of 4.5 are radians We start with 4.5 radians and have to convert this to degrees.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Next, we take the decimal of the degrees we get and multiply that by 60 to get minutes Finally, take the decimal of the minutes and multiply that by 60 to get second.

Omgg thankyou soo much. Now I get why I was getting it wrong. Tyyy
