HEEEELLPPP PLLLZZZ!!!!!!! Which voting method may violate the majority criterion?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The Plurality method violates the majority criterion

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Ex: if you have 3 candidates A, B, and C and they get the following vote counts A: 40 votes B: 30 votes C: 30 votes There are 40+30+30 = 100 votes total, but the winner (candidate A) wins by the plurality method, but NOT by getting the majority of the votes. The majority of the votes would be 51 votes or more.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So this shows how this violates the majority criterion
