Dave is designing a play pool for a theme park. The path EH is equidistant from the sides AE and ED of the pool, as shown.

Dave wrote the following steps to construct the path. Step Description 1 Adjust the compass to a medium width and place it at point H and draw an arc which cuts side AE at point F and ED at point G. 2 Keep the width of the compass less than the width of EF and place it at point F and draw an arc between the line segments AE and ED. 3 Keep the width of the compass the same and place it at G and draw an arc which intersects the previous arc at a point H. 4 Use a straightedge to connect the points E and H. Which is the first step that was done incorrectly? Step 1, because the compass should be placed at point E. Step 2, because the width of the compass should be the same while cutting arcs on AE and ED. Step 4, because the compass should be used to connect the points E and H. Step 3, because the width of the compass should be changed to FG.
