Update is singular, updating means that it happens more than once, usually and a constant interval but also possible for it to be done randomly. If this is the case and it's an online grade ask your teacher/professor to change it, if it was graded manually find a new professor next semester cause this one will probably be tough. Although, if you made a quote of something and you got the quote wrong that's why, you don't ever want to change someones words when quoting, and that is a mistake any and every professor will grade you down on.
