how do you convert an angle measure to degrees minutes and seconds ex: 59.0854

OpenStudy (anonymous):

59.0854 has 59 degrees and a decimal following it. The decimal can be converted into minutes by multiplying the decimal by 60 minutes/1degree If the minutes number contains a decimal we have to multiply the new decimal by 60 seconds/minutes to find the # of seconds.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 48 minutes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i leave the degree as 59?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, the degrees is simply the original non-decimal number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 59 degrees and 48 seconds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will double check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 59 degrees 5 minutes and 7 seconds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

59 degrees 0.0854*60 minutes 59 degrees 5 minutes 0.124*60 seconds 59 degrees 5 minutes 7.44 seconds if we round 59 degrees 5 minutes 7 seconds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

noooooooooooo.
