which metal, aluminium or iron can store more heat? Why?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Aluminum has a higher specific heat so it requires more energy to raise its temperature and can therefore store more heat.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain further on how it can store more heat?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

To understand this it would help to understand what specific heat is. I doubt I could explain it well enough for you but this site does a pretty good job of it: http://www.iun.edu/~cpanhd/C101webnotes/matter-and-energy/specificheat.html
