Parth (parthkohli):

It is a vector quantity.\[Velocity = {Displacement\over Time} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In physics, velocity is much more useful than bog-standard speed as if things' motion cancel out (e.g. crash into each other), the speeds don't add, but the velocities do- |dw:1346422408577:dw|

OpenStudy (naveenbabbar):

It is defined as rate of change of position w.r.t position.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Velocity is the speed and direction of an object for example is something is going 60mph thats its speed not velocity and if something is going north thats the direction not velocity but if something is going 60mph North that is its veloctiy.
