Which type of probability tool would be an appropriate choice for a simulation that models 4 equally likely outcomes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

standard die a bag of red and blue marbles coin standard deck of cards

I'd either use a four-sided die, or the random number generator function on my calculator with the appropriate parameters.

Deck of cards is also good: each suit representing an outcome. (Take the jokers out first)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh... i see what you are saying with the deck of cards.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but also the red and blue marbles could do that too because there is 2 colors???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The bag of marbles, I'm not so sure, unless you had four colors to represent the four outcomes.

I still think a four-sided die is simplest and most fun. ;-) You can get polyhedral dice at game stores.

There are tables of random values available everywhere as well, but most calculators these days have a random number function.
