Hypothetically asking, why do we even have different chats? 1) There's only one active chat: Mathematics. 2) People perceive from the chat names that there's a study talk. (e.g., Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics). 3) Problems rise, like the zen-mode. 4) More wasted space in database. 5) Last but not the least: People may plot behind backs.
Imagine zen mode for just one chat. Nice.
Well, the issue there is that solution isn't necessarily scalable. For example, we are partnering with some other groups to offer study groups for a Mechanical MOOC - people who are taking that class should have the opportunity to communicate with each other outside of the 'noise' of the Math chat. It's a good point you bring up though Parth, and one we've struggled with back and forth for quite a while now. We are still looking at the best possible method - and I at least think this most recent release addresses a lot of the concerns people have brought up. Keep those ideas coming!
