Parth (parthkohli):

How do you use Mathematica to graph a straight line through two points?

Parth (parthkohli):

For example, if I'm given the points (3,4) and (6,7)... then I can ListLinePlot, but that just joins those points.

Parth (parthkohli):

|dw:1346439617662:dw| This is what I want.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the difference ??

Parth (parthkohli):

ListLinePlot joins those two points(that's a line segment geometrically). What I want is the second one which stretches in both directions like you can see.

Refer to the screen capture from Mathematica 8. AspectRatio -> Automatic keeps each axis at the same scale.

Parth (parthkohli):

Haha, you named that file after me. Let me check it out.

Parth (parthkohli):

Gotcha, @robtobey

Parth (parthkohli):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (radar):

@robtobey, I knew you could help on that one.

OpenStudy (radar):

How have things been in Sunny CA? We are at long last getting rain, thanks to Issac.

@ParthKohli The attached screen capture answers your original question: "How do you use Mathematica to graph a straight line through two points?"

The original posting was a pdf file, however, the subscripts did not translate properly.
