Find a possible formula for the following graph. Let P = 2 and Q = 4. http://www.webassign.net/hgmcalc/1-5-24fig_alt.gif

OpenStudy (shivaniits):

looks as a general sine graph shifted on y scale ...!!

OpenStudy (shivaniits):

is x in radians or degrees..??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4sin(pi/3*x)+2

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Not quite. The amplitude is 2. The coefficient of the variable is 2pi/T where T is the period of the graph. In this case, it goes through a complete cycle in a period of 8. So \[y = 2\sin (\frac{ \pi }{ 4}) + 2\]

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Whoops - forgot the x \[y = 2\sin (\frac{ \pi }{ 4}x) + 2\]
