Step I) write each number as its factor like\[18 = 3\times 3\times2\]Step II) When 18 is inside a square root, a 3 comes out, as its 3^2 inside.\[\sqrt{3\times 3\times 2} = 3 \sqrt{2}\]Simplify each term like this and see what you get. Step III) The like terms get added/ subtracted together. ( a point to remember: \[x\sqrt{2} +2\sqrt{2} = (x+2) \sqrt{2}\]
