Aristotle idea of government: Why is it impractical today? What do we use? Other dangers of a direct democratic system.

Aristotle was an advocate of direct democracy. This means that every citizen votes for everything. This wont work in any large country today, because a citizen in California won't care about voting for the building of a road in New York. Instead, today's democracies are republics, meaning we elect officials to vote on such issues rather than do it ourselves
