is it true that tutorials do NOT really increase medal count? Even if you get 100+ medals in a tutorial, it only counts as one medal for asking?
nope. I don't think so. There may be a limit on how many medals you can get per question, but I don't think it's 1!
Oooh. I just realized that it MAY be restricted to 2!
To the best of my knowledge, for all practical purposes an unlimited number of medals may be awarded to a poster in a single thread. Whether that thread be an ordinary tutoring session or a tutorial. From an unlimited but equal number of users, of course. There may be some back end cap that no one would ever reach - like 17,833,420 medals, for instance - but that would be a technicality to be addressed by one of the coders.
That verbiage is just a little confusing. There is no restriction on medals. You get SS points for almost every medal you get, and every medal increases yr overall total medal count. There are also things not shown on the profile page that factor into yr score. You can think of that "medals for asking" count as more of a "number of 'good' questions" count.
I think those medals for asking translates to why @lgbasallote is a "scholar" for engagement
actually @Hero it's the number of my questions asked and the length of those threads. tutorials didnt really give me much engagement score. true story.
The tutorials ARE part of your "questions asked". When you input something into the 'ask a question' box, and hit enter, the system interprets it as a question. That includes your tutorials. The system can't tell the difference between a regular question and a tutorial.
