Tom and Tina set out on their bikes at noon and travek toward each other, meeting at 2:30 pm. Tina's speed is 4 mi/h faster than Tom's speed, and their starting points are 50 mi apart. Find Tina's speed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let tom's speed be x mph. Then tina's speed is x+4 mph. Time taken to meet = 2.5 hrs. Total distance covered = 50 mi.

Now, you know that distance traveled = speed x time right?
