7b-4.2= -3b+9.1 we have to isolate the b so add 4.2 to each side 7b-4.2+4.2= -3b+9.1+4.2 the -4.2 and 4.2 cancel out 7b= -3b+13.3 then add 3b to each side 7b+3b= -3b+3b+13.3 the -3b and 3b cancel out 10b=13.3 divide each side by 10 b=1.33 and that is your answer
