The picture below shows the location of Tim, Kathy, Joe, and Brenda’s houses near a community hall. The shaded triangle has an area of 400 square feet. The road connecting Tim and Brenda’s houses is bisected by the road connecting Joe and Kathy’s houses, as shown below. http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/assessment_images/educator_geometry_v14/pool_Geom_3641_0700_Subtest_01_08/image0034e5f9b7c.jpg What is the length of the road between Joe and Brenda’s houses?

In my view, Height will be 40 feet.. Area you are given with 400 square feet.. So use: \[Area = \frac{1}{2} \times Base \times Height\] Find base here..
Base will be the length of the road between Joe and Brenda’s houses..
Gotta go now.. Sorry..
@waterineyes what do i put where it says base? like, how do i write it?
Since the roads bisects each other, we will take the angle at that position to be 90. Then finding the length from the community hall to Joy's house to 20ft. Finally you get the answer tobe \[20\sqrt{5}\]
that isnt an answer.......
you want the detail?
?????
that isnt one of the answer choices......
\[400 = \frac{1}{2} \times Base \times 40 \implies 400 \times 2 = Base \times 40\] \[Base = \frac{400 \times 2}{40} \implies Base = 20\] Make me confirm if it is in the answer choices or not..
