See the attached .JPG file below. To work out the problems, I suggest we (the kind OS user who helps and I) use CoSketch, an online whiteboard: http://cosketch.com/Rooms/dnaysrm Or, I could use the whiteboard. work it out, then type in my answer on this question reply box. Thanks in advance, -HelpmePlz311 (formerly known as helpmeplz310).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please reply if you'd like to help me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Note: I already did problems number 1 through 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Well, if you do not want to help, it's just fine. But I need help with ones such as -6+5-10+-4-(-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9. 5 + 4 + 3 - ( 5 + 10 ) = ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? Can we do it as described in the question? I use the whiteboard, work it out, get the answer, then type it on here? Then you can check it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer -4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I meant -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well,thanks! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One moment...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-96

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) Thanks :) I just wanted to check to make sure they are correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11. (35 + 15 + 17) - 9 = ...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Was .10 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-78?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah,dumb me. 58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WAIT. Please answer one quick question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We are still doing number 11 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So number 11 was 58,right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And 19-18=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 12 is 18.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you continue on your own now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cool! I want you to know I'm grateful for your help so far, by the way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you understand the way I group the numbers together?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure,thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mean the result to #13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't forget to show your grouping so when you're wrong I know where to fix it! Yupe, start with # 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can call me Rachel by the way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've got a good tutor. LOL :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k. :) ill message you the results,alright?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mean post the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

post the way you solve it like I show you how to group them together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.so, you want me to work it out like i do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I make a T-Chart, put the positives (+) on the right, negatives on the left (-) then put the numbers on the correct side of the chart.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Great way :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then add them up, and subtract the results

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tganks ! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-71 is what i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( because 76-5 is 71, and i keep the sign of the larger result )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is how you group numbers with the same signs together ! Yes, you're right again :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hope you feel confident with correct results :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, well, thsanks. Do you want to answer another question,if so, thanks for your help-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
