what is cloud compounding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe you mean cloud computing ?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cloud Computing is a technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud computing allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. This technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralizing data storage, processing and bandwidth.

Basically, you could understand cloud computing as the process in which you store data(documents, music, movies and so on) on the internet(yeah,i know it doesn't sound very academic or correct, but bear with me..) and not on the HDD/SSD (CD USB stick and so on) of your computer.By "internet" i mean online storage services such as Mediafire ( http://www.mediafire.com/) that use servers to store your data,so that when you need it,you can access it.Now the basic advantage for cloud computing is the fact that you can access from any computer that has an internet connection.Another advantage would be the low cost that this technology implies for the users(imagine if you would have to keep a server running 24/7 in your house...) and the fact that the concern of maintenance for the servers that hold the data dissapears for the end users.

So no need to have a large sized hard disks... just connect n relish.. online embedded software, games n movies etc.
