The graph of y=ax^2+2 is a parabola, where "a" is a constant. If a/3 x^2 +2 is graphed on the same axes, which of the following best describes the resulting graph, as compared to the graph of y=ax^2+2? It will be narrower. It will be wider. It will be moved to the left. It will be moved to the right. It will be moved 3 units downward.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i think you mean 'where a is a constant'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohyeah. sorry about the typo.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fixed it

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

it widens by a factor of 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it will be wider?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yes

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i've been trying to draw it by draw function won't work for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx anyways!

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

a/3 - i used a/2 - by mistake - it will widen but by a factor of 1/3
