Could someone please explain Ratio's and finding Percents to me?

Parth (parthkohli):

Ratio, merely, is just a fancy way to express a fraction. You can find percentages from ratios.

Parth (parthkohli):

For example, you have to find what percent 40 is of 80:\[40:80=x:100 \]This is a proportion.

Parth (parthkohli):

Do remember that percentage is just division by 100. Now, do you understand how to find percents using ratios? Also, as I said, ratio is same as a fraction. So... you can also express it like:\[{40 \over 80} = {x \over 100} \]

Thank you! This is making a lot more sense than previously explained to me. :) I appreciate your answer.

You're welcome... good luck!
