Hy ! Can anyone help me with this problem : min x1 st: x1^2 + x2^2 <=4 It's this problem convex ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the equation for a circle of radius 2 and centered at the origin. Let y=X1 and X=x1 and r=2 then graph the relationship. In order to have it be convex, you must limit the set of values taken by y=x1 to all positive values?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a minimization problem

\[\min x _{1} ;st: x _{1} ^{2} + x _{2}^{2}\le 4 \]
