how do you work on the metric system??? like we are trying to convert decimals from mm to m and kilometers to decimeters stuff like that and i dont understand it

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

The metric system is centered around the number 10. Each unit goes up by 10. A decameter is 10 meters. A hectometer is 10 decameters. A kilometer is 10 hectometers. a good mnemonic to remember this is: King Henry died (only/by) drinking chocolate milk. they are, in order: Kilo-1000X base Hecto-100X base Deca-10X base One/Base - ex: liter, meter, gram Deci-base/10 Centi-base/100 Mili-base/1000 Hope this helps you! :)
