The sun roof in Troy’s house is shaped like a rectangle. He increases the length of the sides of the sun roof to three times the existing ones. How will this change affect the perimeter of the sun roof? It will be 12 times the original perimeter. It will be 3 times the original perimeter. It will be 18 times the original perimeter. It will be 9 times the original perimeter.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

perimeter = l + l + w + w if he increases the length of the sides then... p = 3l + 3l + 3w + 3w => p = 3(l + l + w + w) so the perimeter increases by 3. make sense?

Yea, so that would be choice B?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

if choice B says perimeter increases 3x then it's B

Umm ok ..
