How is solving linear inequalities in one variable different than solving linear equations in one variable?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

well in solving linear in equalities you have to make the signs similar for example y < x + 1 y > 3x + 2 you have to turn it into this first: y < x + 1 -y < -3x - 2 before you can eliminate them does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, thank you.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about the equations? do they stay the same?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what do you mean equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it the same for inequalities in one variable and equations in one variable?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

aside from what i said, it's the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, Thanks for clearing that out for me, I really appreciate your help. =)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome
