______ began with nobunaga and hideyoshi and was restored by tokugawa rulers. A. preserving ancient manuscripts B. constructio nof sacred temples C. central government authority D. confucianism
Nobunaga Oda sought to unify Japan during the Sengoku period but failed in the end. It would be up to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of his generals, to take up the same struggle and succeed where he did not, ultimately unifying Japan and laying down the groundwork for what would become the central authority of Japan for the next several centuries. Preserving ancient manuscripts wasn't as much of a priority between these two men, nor was the construction of sacred temples. In Nobunaga's case, he actually burned down temples to destroy potential rivals at one point in his conquests. And Confucianism was primarily a Chinese phenomenon. So, after stepping through these reasons together, the only answer knowing all of this has to be (C), central government authority.
