if im remembering this correctly: when all the parts are equal, the system is in a state of equilibrium. In 2 dimensions, this would equate with a system of 2 equations in 2 unknowns.:\[|T_1|sin\beta +|T_2|sin\alpha=M \]\[|T_1|cos\beta -|T_2|cos\alpha=0\]

your picture just moves this process into 3 dimensions.
