OpenStudy (anonymous):

Amendments 13, 14, and 15 were added during the Reconstruction era. These rights gave slaves freedom from their owners and slavery was abolished (13th amendment). All former slaves were now considered American citizens, African Americans were now counted a full person instead of 3/5ths of a person (14th amendments).
