Help! How heavy does a 180Ibs person feel if while they are accelerating at a rate of .9 m/s^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought it would just be .9 * 180, but that isn't right

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Accelerating upwards or downwards?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Or horizontally?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

You'll need to add vectorially the acceleration to the acceleration due to gravity (downwards).

OpenStudy (mathmate):

g on earth is 9.81 m/s^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Accelerating upwards. Would I multiply 9.8 by .9?
