A circle is tangent to the x-axis and the line y=6. Which equation could descibe the circle? (x-6)^2+(y-3)^2=6 (x-5)^2+(y-3)^2=9 (x-1)^2+(y+3)^2=6 (x+3)^2+(y-6)^2=9 (x+9)^2+(y+6)^2=36

OpenStudy (ghazi):

see it is tangent to y=6 and x=0 so it's diameter must be 6 and radius =3 whose square is 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which equation is it?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

it has two possibilities either equation B or equation D but

OpenStudy (ghazi):

but coordinate of radius can't be y=6..therefore it's B...see you can do it without solving

thnx for helping!
