the volume of a box is 490 ft^3. the height is 3 ft greater than both the length and width. if the surface area is 329 ft^2, what are the width(and length) and height of the box?

Set up your surface area and volume formulas and plug in your knowns and unknowns.

You have a third equation based on the statement, "the height is 3 ft greater than both the length and width." Which sounds to me like the length and width are equal, but either way, you have three equations to solve the three unknowns.
