OpenStudy (deadpool):

is there an inverse function of: y=x^3+x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (deadpool):

explain please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x^3 +x is a cubic polynomial. To know if a function has an inverse, you do a horizontal line test. If you draw a straight horizontal line through the graph of the function and it passes through only one point then it is1-1, otherwise it isnt

OpenStudy (deadpool):

thank you kind sir

|dw:1346728681193:dw| A 1-1 function has only one y value for every x value but a non 1-1 function has more than one y value for each x value
