What is the perimeter of a regular pentagon with sides 6 inches long?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-How many sides does a pentagon have? -What is a perimeter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A pentagon has five sides. If each side of the pentagon is six inches, the perimeter (or the distance along the edges of the pentagon) is 5 times 6, or 30 inches

Juan would like to hang some rope lighting around the perimeter of his room. His room is in the shape of a rectangle with an area of 24 square meters. Juan knows the length of his room is 6 meters. Part 1: What is the width of Juan’s room? Part 2: How long should the rope lighting be so that it wraps around the perimeter of his room?

To find this: Ok you know the area and area is length x width =area fill it in: 6 x width=24 simplify 24 divided by 6 which is 4 (part 1) Now you know the width and the length so 6+6+4+4 which is 20 (part 2)
