how to solve this 2x^3-8x=0

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

factor out 2x \[\implies 2x(x^2 - 4) = 0\] do you see that the second factor is difference of two squares? \[\implies 2x(x+2)(x-2) = 0\] do you know how to solve for x now?

yes thank you!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome

cubic equation so we wolud expect 3 answers.factor out 2x. x becomes zero.dats our first root. we have x^2-4 left. that obviously a difference of two squares so you'll get + or -2. so your 3 root have been found now...hope that was fun
