(x^2+3x+2)/(x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you factor x²+3x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont remember how it's been so long since i've had to factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x²+3x+2 = ( x +2) ( x +1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I think I remember now, 2+1=3 and 2*1=2. Then do you cancel out the two (x+2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, ( x +2) ( x +1) / (x+2) = ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, it's how you simplify by factorization!

Awesome! Thank you!!
