Who do you know that currently uses persuasive speaking in their line of work? Is it effective? Why?
Politicians. Yes. They need votes from the people.
activists use persuasive speaking as well. Although, they're usually more on action...but does persuasive speaking nonetheless
Even in office/work settings, persuasive speaking is a useful tool to have when discussing ideas, changes to processes, or voicing opinions during a meeting that you might have strong feelings about. Union leaders and members have to be persuasive when negotiating with plant owners, for example, while plant managers and supervisors will be using the same tactics to voice their own opinions and suggestions during negotiations. Ambassadors also rely on persuasive speaking to express the position of their country and to sway opinion in foreign settings as another example.
