1) Estimate by Clustering: 327 + 296 + 312 + 301 + 275 =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you estimate by clustering you need to find a number which these 5 numbers are clustered around. So tell me, can you see a number which they are all near?

Parth (parthkohli):

All numbers are similar and are just keeping around a number.

it's so confusing... Meh :/

I'll give you an example. Suppose you wanted to add: 594 603 622 586 Then you would notice that all of the numbers are around 600, so instead of doing the sum you can estimate it by doing 4x600. Get it?

I'm starting to

Good :) Can you see a number then which: 327 296 312 301 275 Cluster around?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(Hint: the whole point of cluster estimation is to make the sum easier, so the number should be nice and round)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

300?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes :) So all you do to estimate it is just take 5x300.
