how was life for freedmen during Reconstruction

most slaves who worked in fields lives did get better. Though as for house slaves they stayed with their owners because the owners and slaves did love each other, most of them any way. The yankees who came down from the north treated the freedmen really well, but only to get the south angry. The north people didn't even really like colored people. They knew slavery was wrong, but they just didn't like the slaves. So really the freedmen lives did get better, but only for a false cause.
