The intensity of light decreases as the inverse square of the distance. This means that for 2 light bulbs located 1 and 2 meters from you, the dimmer light bulb will be a. 2 meters away and half as bright. b. 2 meters away and one fourth as bright. c. 1 meters away and one half as bright d. 2 meters away and twice as bright

I mean i think it is C

The answer I believe it actually B haha :P Reason being is that the dimmer is obviously the farther one, considering they are equal in intensities. But intensity DECREASES by 1/r^2, so at 2 m, 1/2^2 is 1/4. So you'll see the 2m one at 1/4 intensity :P

lol Thank you I am taking what you just said and putting it into my notes lol for test day!

Haha no problem. I'm taking Physics II, so we're doing EM Theory and the same inverse square law applies for forces and fields with electricity! Decreases by 1/r^2!
