How would you graph the direct variation equation? y - 4x

OpenStudy (phi):

You need an = sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my exam doesn't have an = sign. i'm guessing the - is suppose to be an =.

OpenStudy (phi):

oh. because I was wondering did you mean y= -4x or y= 4x Let's guess y= 4x pick a nice (small number) for x. replace the x with your small number. multiply by 4 that will be y. you have found 1 point (x,y). plot it. pick another small number. find (x,y). plot it. draw a line through the 2 points. (connect the dots, as they say)
