Solve for X: Ax+By=C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want to isolate x so its by itself on one side you can start by subtracting By from both sides to get rid of the By on the left side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ax=C -By

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you retype that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ax+By=C -By -By ___________

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, then what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ABxy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what... Ax+By=C Ax+By-By=C-By Ax=C-By where in the world did you get ABxy....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you're gonna just guess i refuse to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didnt guess i miss read my - sign for +

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus idk how tto do this it kills me

whenever you're trying to solve for a variable, you need to try to isolate that variable so its alone on one side basically a reverse of Pemdas whenever you want to get rid of something from one side, you need to do the same operation on the other side i wanted to get rid of By on the left side, ican achieve this by subtracting a By on the left side, since i am doing so, i must subtract a By from the right side YOU ALWAYS NEED TO DO IT ON BOTH SIDES, other wise it wont be a balanced equation lastly, since we want to get rid of the A from the left side, this can be achieved by dividing an A
