But the m outside of the parenthesis is a variable

let w = width

perimiter of a rectangle is 2l+2w

so one equaion is 2l + 2w = 26

let l = (x+3) and w = (2x-6)m

2l+2w = 26
2(x+3)+2w(2x-6) = 26

with only this information we cant solve for x and m
are you sure the other m is a variable?
