How to change 61795.8 in to scientific notation? And is it possible to change whole numbers with no zeros in to scientific notation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, it's possible to change a whole number into scientific notation. 61795.8 would be 6.2 x 10 ^4 in scientific notation depending on how many significant figures you need...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

61795.8. So move the decimal to the left 4 spaces making it 6.1795.8 and round the number to the nearest tenth. So 6.2 x 10 ^4.

Sorry, I messed up "making it *6.17958*". I accidentally left that decimal in front of the 8 =3

Yeah, I understand :) Thanks for the help.
